Pete Shock, a Cliff, New Mexico-native graduated from WNMN in 1972 and 1977. While at WNMU, Shock was a four-year basketball letterman. During the 1971-1972 season, Shock was a member of the NAIA All-District 7 Team, the RMAC All-Conference Team, and team MVP.

After graduating from WNMU, Shock spent 27 years coaching high school basketball and track. Shock coached seven state championship teams in basketball, named New Mexico Coach of the Year seven times, and in 1999, he was named the Boy’s Basketball National Coach of the Year. Shock also coached three state championship teams in track.

Pete Shock is married to Cindy Shock, and together they have three children, Nicole, Brian, and Heather.
