Western New Mexico University Athletics

Kent Walz is the first tennis player to be honored in WNMU’S Athletic Hall of Fame. Walz graduated from WNMU with a Bachelor of Arts in Economic in 1972. Walz lettered in tennis for four years, was awarded MVP two years, and high point performer two years as well. In his senior year, Walz was named Outstanding Scholar Athlete and was the winner of the Blue Key Award and Who’s Who.

Walz was also a member of the Student Publication Board and a member of Pi Gamma Mu.
