Arlington, TX – Wednesday was the final round for the Mustangs, playing in the 2021 LSC Men's Golf Championship, at the Tierra Verde Golf Club, in Arlington, TX. The Mustangs would finish in 5th place, shooting (+14) on the day. 

Concluding the second round yesterday, the Mustangs were in 3rd place. WNMU had the best performance, as they had the lowest round of the day in very tough conditions. Fast forwarding to today, WNMU would find themselves in 5th place and (+27) for the championship.

Sam Ruston (Birmingham, ENG/Chase Terrace Technology) had a great LSC Championship, finishing T-8th. Ruston's scores were 71-74-72, finishing (+1). Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) finished T-14th, being (+5). Geary carded 74-72-75 for the week. 

Harry O'Callaghan (Leeds, ENG/Priesthorpe HS) carded 72-76-77, finishing T-28th and (+9). After the final round, Lucas Hechler (Playa Del Carmen, MEX/Greg Norman Academy) finished T-42nd, as he was (+13) carding 76-75-78. Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary ) ended (+17) with 75-76-82, putting him T-50th. 

WNMU was 2nd in total birdies with 47, trailing Oklahoma Christian's 51. The Mustangs struggled with pars, finishing in last with 140. The Mustangs played par 5's exceptionally well, being (-22). WNMU only trailed Oklahoma Christian who had (-29). 

After leading all week, Oklahoma Christian wins the 2021 LSC Men's Golf Championship. OCU shot (-9) on the day, making them (-6) for the Championship. Midwestern State finished (+5), good enough for 2nd place. Texas A&M-Commerce and Cameron University moved up to the 3rd spot as they were (+23). 

Jake Doggett of Midwestern State led golfers for the 3rd consecutive day, finishing (-10), carding 65-71-70. Oklahoma Texas A&M–International's Parker Holekamp ended (-7) and in 2nd. From Oklahoma Christian, Trevor Norby was (-4) carding, 70-72-70, placing him in 3rd place.

The Mustangs certainly needed great play after trailing Texas A&M-International in the South Central Golf Rankings.The top-8 make the regional as the Mustangs were 9th. TAMIU finished in 12th, helping to strengthen their bid for a birth at the NCAA DII Men's West/South Regional Championship, played at the Home Course, in Dupont, WA.

The Mustangs will find out Friday at 6:00pm when Regional Rankings are released.
