Men's Golf End in 11th at the LSC Championship

Rockwall, TX. – The Western New Mexico University men's golf team finished up the final round of the Lone Star Conference Championships in Rockwall, Texas and ended in 11th of 12 teams. The Mustangs had a final round of 312 (+24) for a three round total of 331-309-312 (+88) at Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club.

Jacob Alcorta (Silver City/Silver HS) led the way for the Mustangs with a 54-hole total of (+14). Alcorta ended the tournament with a round of 78 that included 2 birdies. Alcorta would have rounds of 79-73-78 (+14) for a T31 finish. Close behind, finishing the tournament at (+17) was Jayden Schmitz (Oro Valley, AZ/Ironwood Ridge HS). Schmitz would card rounds of 77-77-79 and would finish the event in tied 39th.

Max Kaesebier (Bad Langensalza, Germany/Pierre-de-Coubertin Gymnasium) was next for the Mustangs with a final round of 77 (+5) for a +23 total to finish in 50th place individually. Kaesebier would record rounds of 85-77-77 for the week. Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs, Elijah Salazar (Santa Fe, NM/Saint Michael's HS) ended with a final round 78 (+6) to go along with his opening rounds of 90-82 (+34 total) and finish in 53rd.

Next up, the Mustangs will head to the PGA Works Collegiate in West Palm Beach, FL, April 4-6th, at The Park Golf Club.
