RICHARDSON, Texas – Western New Mexico University sophomore George Peru (Silver City, NM/Cobre HS) has been named to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team for Men's Outdoor Track & Field, recognizing his outstanding achievements both in competition and in the classroom.
A native of Silver City, New Mexico, Peru represents the Mustangs in the javelin and is currently majoring in Secondary Education. With a perfect 4.00 undergraduate GPA, Peru exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete. He also earned a spot on the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2024–25 academic year.
To be eligible for All-Academic recognition, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and demonstrate excellence in both academics and athletics.
