San Diego, California - Track & Field start their 2025 season in San Diego, California. Attending a meet by Point Loma, the Mustangs started day one of the 2025 Ross & Sharon Irwin Invite with Women's/Men's Javelin competing for the day.
On the Women's side, Trinity Rios (Silver City, NM/Cobre High School) & Nayeli Cobos (Dexter, NM/Dexter HS) threw for the Mustangs. Trinity Rios (Silver City, NM/Cobre High School) placed 18th out of 25 women to throw. Her farthest throw was 24.91m. Nayeli Cobos (Dexter, NM/Dexter HS) was next for the Mustangs, she placed 22nd out of the 25 women. Nayeli Cobos's (Dexter, NM/Dexter HS) farthest throw was 22.38m.
On the Men's side, George Peru (Silver City, NM/Cobre HS) & Michael Parker (El Paso, TX/Pebble Hills High School) threw for the Mustangs. George Peru (Silver City, NM/Cobre HS) placed 8th of 26 men to throw, placing him in the top 10, which is a big achievement for the Mustangs! His farthest throw was 42.79m. Michael Parker (El Paso, TX/Pebble Hills High School) was next for the Mustangs; he placed 14th out of the 26 men. Michael Parker's (El Paso, TX/Pebble Hills High School) farthest throw was 38.89m.
The Mustangs will participate in day two of the 2025 Ross & Sharon Irwin invite. On Saturday, March 15th, the Mustangs will finish their field events and move into their running events.
