Fort Worth, TX. — Western New Mexico Women's Cross Country Team placed 10th in the Lone Star Conference meet, with
Aubrey Lozoya (Albuquerque, NM/Cottonwood Classic Preparatory) leading the team by finishing 21st in the women's 6K. Women's Cross Country competed at the AP Ranch in Fort Worth, finishing 10th out of 15 teams with a total of 257 points.
Aubrey Lozoya (Albuquerque, NM/Cottonwood Classic Preparatory) led the team with a time of 22:40.41,
a new personal record, securing 21st place, contributing significantly to the team's score.
Vanessa Dominguez (Pecos, NM/Pecos High School) followed with a time of 24:07.54 in 50th place, which was
a new personal record.
McKenna Sahd (Angel Fire, NM/Cimarron High School) and Jeanette Rivera finished in 60th and 61st places, respectively, with times of 24:39.40 and 24:40.97, which were
both personal records in the 6K. This demonstrated a consistent performance among the top four runners for the Mustangs.
Sarah Romero (Rio Rancho, NM/Cleveland Sue HS) and
Isabella Medina (El Paso, TX/Americas High School) completed the scoring for the Mustangs, placing 81st and 90th respectively with times of 25:45.53 and 26:13.63. The collective efforts of these athletes highlighted a balanced team performance, with Lozoya's top-25 finish standing out in the competitive field.
The Lady Mustangs will look to continue to trend towards NCAA South Central Regionals in Pueblo, Colorado, November 8th.
