Sarah Romero () leading the team with a 42nd-place individual finish and a time of 24:56.0.
Western New Mexico's women's team finished ninth out of 14 teams, accumulating 239 points with an average time of 25:39.80. Romero led the Mustangs, finishing 42nd overall with a time of 24:56.0. Senior
Vanessa Dominguez (Pecos, NM/Pecos High School) closely followed, crossing the line in 45th place with a time of 25:02.8 which was a 6k personal record, illustrating strong performances from the team's upperclassmen.
Junior
McKenna Sahd (Angel Fire, NM/Cimarron High School) and Jeanette Rivera also delivered consistent results, placing 47th and 48th, respectively. Sahd completed the 6k course in 25:24.4 which was a 6k personal record, while Rivera finished in 25:26.3. Senior
Isabella Medina (El Paso, TX/Americas High School) rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs, finishing 79th with a time of 27:29.5. Despite the competitive field, the team showcased depth and steady pacing across their lineup.
The next challenge for the Mustangs is a trip to Riverside, Calif., for the UC Riverside Invite on September 27.
