The team faced stiff competition with 254 runners participating in the event, finishing in 11th place with a team score of 351. Aubrey Lozoya (Albuquerque, NM/Cottonwood Classic Preparatory) was a top performer, placing 12th with a time of 18:12.8, which was not only a personal best but also set a new school record, previously held by Gracey Lovato who ran 18:29.7. Vanessa Dominguez (Pecos, NM/Pecos High School) contributed to the team's efforts by crossing the finish line in 95th place with a time of 19:20.4, a personal best that surpassed her previous time of 20:00.1.

McKenna Sahd (Angel Fire, NM/Cimarron High School) and Jeanette Rivera also provided solid performances, finishing with times of 19:35.4 and 19:39.7, respectively. Both runners achieved personal bests, with Sahd improving from 20:02.6 and Rivera from 20:42.6. Despite the competitive field, Western New Mexico's runners showcased their endurance and determination throughout the 5K race.

Looking ahead, the team will face Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas, on October 11, for the Old Glory Gallop.
