Perales Keeps Deming Pipeline Open for WNMU Golf

Deming, NM -- Aaron (Nemo) Perales will join the WNMU men's golf team this Fall as the latest signee from perennial power Deming High School. Perales will join the Wildcats' Presley Jackson, who signed with the women's team earlier this Spring.

Perales was a machine in his junior career, racking up over 30 wins in both high school and junior competition. A three-time District Champion for Coach James Williams and the Wildcats, Perales is the consummate team player, despite his individual successes.

When he dons his purple polo for the Mustangs this season, he will have joined other Deming grads that wore the same uniform for Mustang golf. Bianca Dominguez (Metz), Cheyenne (Molina) Ration, Kayla Molina, Deryk (Buzz) Perales, Shelby Turner and now Jackson have made the 50 mile trip up the road to have outstanding careers for Western.

"Coach (James) Williams is an exceptional coach, and we're honored to continually get his players," said WNMU Golf Coach Kent Beatty. "They are savvy golfers, but more importantly, they understand that golf is really a team game. Two of my assistant coaches (Buzz Perales and Shelby Turner) were Wildcats have both were very good players and coaches. Nemo will be no exception. He has a remarkably supportive family that has given him the confidence it takes to play at this level. He should be a great addition to our team and University," said Beatty.

Students report to school on August 14 with classes beginning on August 17. The Fall golf season status is still unknown, due to COVID19.
