Temple Scores Conference Honors

Richardson, Tex. -- The Lone Star Conference recognized James Temple (Malahide, IRL/Malahide Community School), Friday for his efforts over the weekend.

Temple fired a WNMU freshman record six-under par 65 in the first round of the play at the Cactus Thaw Invitational at Lonestar Golf Club in El Paso. Despite cold and windy conditions on the second day, he held onto the lead shooting a one-over 72 in the second round to take home the win with a 137 total (65-72). The win marked the first tournament win in school history for a first-year player.

The men's golf team will take a few weeks off before heading to San Antonio for the St. Mary's Invitational.
