Lady Mustangs end Day One at Palm Valley

Goodyear, AZ. — The Western New Mexico Women's Golf team finished up the first day of the RJGA Palm Valley Classic, April 3rd, in 26th of 27 teams. They finished the day with a first round total of 315 for a (+27) total.

Corynn Speer (Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo, HS) led the way for the Mustangs, currently in a tie for 24th individually with a first round of 74 (+2). Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) followed behind with a first round 79 (+7) and is in a tie for 100th individually. Two Mustangs, Nicole Jasso (Deming, NM/Deming HS) and Erin Turner (Deming, NM/Deming HS) ended the day with a round of  81 (+9) which has them tied 119th individually.

Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs, Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) opened up with a round of 87 (+15) and is currently in 141st place individually. As an individual, Kelly Peden (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) finished the first day with a round of 80 (+8) and is in T110th.

The Lady Mustangs will return for the final round at 08:00am, tomorrow April 4th, at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.
