Rockwall, TX. — The Western New Mexico Women's Golf team finished up the first day of the Lone Star Conference Championships, April 13th, in 10th of 13 teams. They finished the day with a first round total of 313 (+25) and a second round total of 307 (+19) for a (+44) total.
Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) led the way for the Mustangs, currently in a tie for 16th individually with an opening two rounds of 73-76 for a (+5) total. Klemke had an impressive 4 birdies in the opening round and will look to end her college career on a high in tomorrow's final round. Two Mustangs,
Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) and
Erin Turner (Deming, NM/Deming HS) ended the opening day with a total of (+13) which has them tied 38th individually. Lackey had rounds of 78-79 with 3 total birdies and Turner had rounds of 84-73 with 5 birdies on the opening day.
Coryn Speer followed behind with an opening two rounds of 81-79 (+16) and is in a tie for 46th individually. Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs,
Nicole Jasso (Deming, NM/Deming HS) had an opening round of 81 (+9) and followed up with an 86 (+14) in the afternoon. Jasso ended the day with a (+23) total and is currently in T55th individually.
The Lady Mustangs will look to end on a strong note for the final round of their 2025-26 season at 08:00am, tomorrow April 14th, at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club in Rockwall, Texas.
