From Standout on the court to Community Leader: Linda Rowse's Lasting Impact
For Linda Rowse, her journey from student-athlete to successful business owner is deeply rooted in the same community where it all began.
A Silver City native, Rowse returned home to build her career after first making her mark at Western New Mexico University. Competing for the Mustang women's tennis team from 1985 to 1987, Rowse—then Linda Harris—established herself as a standout player during her time in Silver City. Her competitive drive and dedication on the court helped define her collegiate career and laid the groundwork for future success beyond athletics.
Following her time at WNMU, Rowse remained connected to the Southwest while building a life centered around family and community. After spending time in places such as Las Cruces, Albuquerque, and Carson City, she ultimately returned to her hometown of Silver City in 2001 with her husband, Mike Rowse, and their two daughters.
Shortly after returning, Rowse and her husband entered the local business landscape, becoming owners of KSCQ Radio, a station they operated from 2000 to 2006. Their work in broadcasting allowed them to engage with the community in a unique and meaningful way, further strengthening their ties to Grant County.
In 2006, Rowse transitioned into real estate, co-founding what would become a highly successful and respected business in the region. Today, she is the co-owner of Enchantment Realty, where she has built a reputation as one of the top realtors in Grant County. Her consistent placement among the area's top 10 real estate professionals is a testament to her work ethic, market knowledge, and commitment to her clients.
Rowse's lifelong connection to Silver City, from growing up in the community to returning to raise her family and build a business, has allowed her to make a lasting impact locally. Whether through business, relationships, or service, she has remained closely tied to the place that helped shape both her athletic and professional journey.
From her days as a standout on the WNMU tennis courts to her success as a business owner in her hometown, Linda Rowse's journey reflects the lasting impact of the Mustang experience and the value of coming full circle.
