SILVER CITY, N.M. – Western New Mexico University Director of Athletics Matt Enriquez has announced the return of Josh Brown to Mustang Athletics as the Assistant Athletic Director of Broadcast.
Brown returns to Silver City after spending the past year at New Mexico Highlands University, where he served as Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Gameday Operations. In that role, he oversaw athletic facilities and game day operations while helping provide a first-class experience for student-athletes, coaches, officials, and fans.
"We're excited to welcome Josh back to Mustang Athletics," said Enriquez. "Josh made a tremendous impact during his first stint at WNMU, helping elevate our broadcasts, communications, and digital presence. He understands our vision for the department and is someone who is passionate about telling the stories of our student-athletes. His experience and leadership will continue to move our department forward."
As Assistant Athletic Director of Broadcast, Brown will oversee all aspects of WNMU Athletics' broadcast production, including live streaming, multi-camera productions, play-by-play coverage, interviews, and video content. He will also lead efforts to enhance the fan experience through high-quality broadcasts while continuing to expand the department's digital storytelling and production capabilities.
"I'm grateful to President Dr. Jose Coll and Athletic Director Matt Enriquez for the opportunity to return to WNMU," Brown said. "During my year away, I was proud to earn my master's degree from WNMU, and it's an honor to come back and serve the university in this new role. I'm excited to help elevate our broadcast production and continue showcasing the outstanding achievements of Mustang Athletics and Western New Mexico University."
Brown previously spent two years at WNMU as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications, where he played an instrumental role in expanding the department's digital media presence and game day production. During his tenure, he managed athletic communications, media relations, live streaming and broadcast operations, social media, graphic design, website management, statistics, and game day communications while promoting the accomplishments of Mustang student-athletes and athletic programs.
Among his many contributions, Brown helped launch multi-camera broadcasts for football, basketball, and softball, strengthened the department's livestream infrastructure, and expanded the reach of Mustang Athletics through innovative digital content and storytelling.
Brown's return brings a wealth of experience in athletic communications, broadcasting, and event operations as Mustang Athletics continues to enhance its coverage and visibility across all 13 intercollegiate sports. His leadership in broadcast production will play a key role in providing an engaging experience for fans while continuing to highlight the success of WNMU student-athletes on and off the field.
