Stockton, CA. – The Western New Mexico University men's golf team finished up the final round of the Men's DII Visit Stockton Invite at the Reserve at Spanos Park and ended in 21st of 21 teams. The Mustangs had a final round of 304 for a two round total of 325-304 (+53).
Jayden Schmitz (Oro Valley, AZ/Ironwood Ridge HS) led the way for the Mustangs with a final round 72 (E) to go along with a first round 82 and a +10 total to finish in a tie for 83rd.
Elijah Salazar (Santa Fe, NM/Saint Michael's HS) was next for the Mustangs with a final round 72 (E) for a +13 total and a T92 finish.
Jacob Alcorta (Silver City/Silver HS) closed out the event with a final round 80 (+8) to finish with a +18 total and in T104th.
Max Kaesebier (Bad Langensalza, Germany/Pierre-de-Coubertin Gymnasium) would finish with a 76 (+4) in round 1 and a round of 85 (+13) in the final round to finish in T101st. Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs,
Jonty Butcher (Barnsley, GB/Penistone Grammar School) closed with a final round 80 (+8) for a +21 total and finished in 110th.
The Mustangs will next head to Edmond, Oklahoma for the Oak Tree Invitational hosted by Oklahoma Christian, March 16-17, at Oak Tree Country Club.
