Stockton, CA. – The Western New Mexico University men's golf team finished up the first day of the Men's DII Visit Stockton Invite at the Reserve at Spanos Park and ended in 21st of 21 teams. The Mustangs had a first round total of +25 through 17 holes as play was cut short due to darkness in Stockton.
Max Kaesebier (Bad Langensalza, Germany/Pierre-de-Coubertin Gymnasium) led the way for the Mustangs at +3 through 17 holes on day one and is in a tie for 43rd.
Jayden Schmitz (Oro Valley, AZ/Ironwood Ridge HS) was next for the Mustangs and is currently at +6 through 15 holes of round 1 and in T81.
Jacob Alcorta (Silver City/Silver HS) is currently at +7 through 16 holes of round 1 and is in T88th.
Elijah Salazar (Santa Fe, NM/Saint Michael's HS) would finish 15 holes in round 1 and is at +9 which places him in tied 101st. Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs,
Jonty Butcher (Barnsley, GB/Penistone Grammar School) is at +11 through 15 holes on day one, currently in tied 107th.
The Mustangs will complete the first round tomorrow morning, February 24th, and will follow with the final round at the Reserve at Spanos Park for the Men's DII Visit Stockton Invite, hosted by the RJGA.
