GOODYEAR, AZ. — The Western New Mexico Women's Golf team concluded the RJGA shootout at the Golf Club of Estrella in 10th place, moving up one spot from yesterday's first round.

The team improved by 8 shots in Tuesday's final round with a team score of 306, to finish the tournament with a total of 620 (+44). Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) continued the charge for the Mustangs with another steady score of 74 (+2) to go with her opening round of 72, highlighted by 2 more birdies and 4 for the tournament. Her tie for 6th finish was the second best of her college career to date and helped the mustangs move up after yesterday's opening round. Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) followed with an impressive score of 72 (E) in the second round to move up 17 spots and finish in a tie for 30th.

Corynn Speer (Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo, HS) finished her tournament with a score of 80 to go with yesterday's 77 and finish in a tie for 43rd. Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs was Nicole Jasso (Deming, NM/Deming HS), who improved upon yesterday by 5 shots to shoot 80, and Erin Turner (Deming, NM/Deming HS) who shot 86, placing them 61st and 67th, respectively. As an individual, Kelly Peden (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) shot a score of 89 and finished in a tie for 69th place.

The Mustangs continue their season next week September 22-23, for the ENMU Ruidoso High Country Shootout at the Links at Sierra Blanca.
