ROCKWALL, Texas – Western New Mexico University men's golf closed out the 2025 season finishing the Lone Star Conference Championship in a tie for 8th place, posting a final team score of 908 (+46) after three rounds of competition at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club. The Mustangs saved their best for last, carding a 296 (+10) in Tuesday's final round, their lowest team round of the week.
Senior
Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keynes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) led the way in Round Three with a 1-under 71, marking his best round of the tournament and a strong finish to his collegiate career. Arkanath's steady play included 6 birdies on the day, helping him climb into a tie for 36th place overall with a total of 231 (+15).
Oscar Feschuk (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/St. Michael's College School) was WNMU's top finisher, posting rounds of 78, 73, and 73 for a 224 (+8) and a T-20 finish. His back-to-back 73s anchored the Mustang scoring effort across the final two rounds.
Freshman
Jacob Alcorta (Silver City/Silver HS) Jr. continued to impress in his postseason debut, closing with a consistent 77 (+5) for the second straight round. Alcorta tied for 29th with a total score of 229 (+13).
Rounding out the Mustang lineup,
Tomas Ribeiro (Porto Seguro, BR/Evolução Centro HS) carded a final-round 79 (+7) to finish T-38 at 232 (+16), while
Jayden Schmitz (Oro Valley, AZ/Ironwood Ridge HS) matched his previous round with another 77 (+5) to close at 233 (+17), tying for 41st.
