Women's Highlights

Field Events:

• In the javelin, Trinity Rios (Silver City, NM/Cobre High School) threw 27.50m to finish 17th, while Naomi Kimble (Animas, NM/Animas HS) followed in 19th at 26.61m.

• Daphne Clark (/) recorded a 9.83m mark in the shot put (15th place) and a solid 35.63m toss in the discus (14th).

Sprints & Mid-Distance:

• Nayeli Cobos (Dexter, NM/Dexter HS) competed in both the 100m and 200m dashes, finishing 26th (12.96) and 29th (26.24), respectively.

• In the 800m, Jeannette Rivera (El Paso, TX/Young Women's Leadership Academy) ran a 2:22.19 for 26th, with Isabella Medina (El Paso, TX/Americas High School) close behind at 2:27.86 (42nd).

• Veronika Garcia (Tucson, AZ/Cienega High School) clocked 1:11.92 in the 400m hurdles to take 12th place.

Distance Events:

• Aubrey Lozoya (Albuquerque, NM/Cottonwood Classic Preparatory) led the Mustang distance crew with a 7th-place finish in the 5000m (18:12.88).

• Vanessa Dominguez (Pecos, NM/Pecos High School) followed in 14th (19:01.37), and McKenna Sahd (Angel Fire, NM/Cimarron High School) rounded out the trio at 22nd (20:03.12).

Relay:

• The women's 4x400m relay team of Cobos, Rivera, Medina, and Garcia placed 10th with a time of 4:10.69.

Men's Highlights

Sprints & Middle Distance:

• Yoab Jaramillo (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista High School) ran the 400m in 57.36, placing 30th.

• In the 800m, Tristan Pierce (Raton, NM/Maxwell High School) led the Mustangs in 12th place (1:54.67). He was joined by Wyatt MacKay (Phoenix, AZ/North Canyon High School) (27th, 1:58.97), Rene Arambula (San Elizario, TX/San Elizario HS) (50th, 2:04.88), and Esau Au (Deming, NM/Deming HS) (61st, 2:10.60).

• Malik Barrens (Pecos, NM/Pecos HS) competed in the 400m hurdles and finished 17th with a time of 59.06.

Relays:

• The 4x400m team of Barrens, MacKay, Arambula, Pierce, and Jaramillo combined for a 12th-place finish in 3:38.97.

Distance Events:

• Jarred Baca (Las Vegas/West Las Vegas High School) stood out with a 3rd-place finish in the 5000m at 14:59.57.

• Javier Garcia (Gilbert, AZ/Gilbert High School) ran 15:19.22 (8th), Samuel Ketcham (Goodyear, AZ/Canyon View High School) finished 14th in 15:26.29, Cameron Shorty (Albuqurque, NM/Atrisco Heritage Academy High School) placed 24th (15:49.24), and Joshua Lara (Albuquerque, NM/Atrisco Heritage Academy High School) was 26th (15:55.50).

• Aaron Perez (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) capped off the event with a time of 16:14.48 (34th).

The Mustangs return to competition at the ULV Leopard Invite hosted by the University of La Verne on April 17–18.
