Amarillo, TX. – The Western New Mexico University men's golf team finished up the first day at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at Amarillo Country Club and ended in 15th. The second round play was interrupted due to inclement weather and the Mustangs managed to get through their opening 29-30 holes in +21 with an opening round of 300 (+16).
Oscar Feschuk (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/St. Michael's College School) led the way for the Mustangs with an opening round of 74 and is currently -1 through 12 holes in the second round, to have him currently at +2 and in T45. Three Mustangs, 
Jack Wadsworth (Plain City, UT/Fremont HS), 
Jayden Schmitz (Oro Valley, AZ/Ironwood Ridge HS) and 
Jonty Butcher (Barnsley, GB/Penistone Grammar School) are all currently at +7 and in T75 through 30 holes with opening rounds of 74,74 and 78 respectively.
Jacob Alcorta (Silver City/Silver HS) finished the day in 83rd at a +9 total with a round of 78 in the morning and is currently +2 mid-way through his second round. Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs as an individual was 
Tyler Jackson (Deming, NM/Deming HS) who opened the day with a round of 77 and is currently -1 through 12 holes in his second round, finishing the day at +5 total and in T67.
Results
The Mustangs will look to make a move up the leaderboard tomorrow with second round play resuming October 15 at 08:30AM MT in Amarillo, TX.
