LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Golf Team took home the South Central/West Super Regional Trophy on Saturday afternoon, punching their ticket to Winter Garden, Flor. for the National Championships. The Mustangs finished as the only team under par at (-2), 277-289-284-850.
Leading the way in round three was Junior
Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keynes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS), taking home 7th place at (-3), 68-69-73-210. Arkanath recorded nine birdies and one outstanding eagle. Fellow Mustang seniors
Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) and
Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary HS) would finish T-14th at E. Geary's card read 65-73-75-213 with 12 birdies, while Niles put together a card of 74-71-68-213 and nine birdies.
Tomas Ribeiro (Porto Seguro, BR/Evolução Centro HS) is the next Mustang up, T-19th at (+1), 70-76-68-214. Ribeiro sunk 14 birdies. Freshman
Max Kaesebier (Bad Langensalza, Germany/Pierre-de-Coubertin Gymnasium) rounds out the Mustangs, T-85th art (+16), 75-78-76-229. Kaesebier had five birdies.
Advancing along with the Mustangs are Oklahoma Christian E, Colorado Christian E, West Texas A&M (+2) and Cal State Monterey Bay (+13).
Dylan Arthur (Colorado Christian) took home the individual prize at (-9). Leandro Mihaich (Oklahoma Christian) claimed second at (-7). Sangha Park (UTPB), Guilio Zanichelli (Academy of Art) and Chris Wardrip (CSU San Bernardino) tied for third at (-6).
The individuals advancing are Chris Wardup and Guilio Zanichelli, after they both defeated Sangha Park in a playoff.

The Mustangs will travel to Winter Garden, Flor. for the National Championships on May 21st-25th hosted by Orange County National Golf.
