SAN DIEGO, CA- Mustang's traveled this week to UC San Diego to compete at the Triton Invite held at the Triton Track and Field Stadium.

Once again, the Mustangs successfully completed the meet with 5 separate school records.

On the sprint side, Nayeli Cobos continued to surprise everyone in the women's 200m distance as she earned a new school record of 26.48sec. Her performance was followed by Veronika Garcia, who also earned a school record in the women's 400m with a time of 1:03.39min.

In the open 800m, both the men and women's school records were shattered this morning. Isabella Medina, who was set to run first, finished with a new record of 2:24.29min. Tristan Pierce (Raton, NM/Maxwell HS), once again broke the men's 800m school record for the 2nd time this season. His finished time across the line was 1:56.77min.

Elias Perez (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) cracked the top 10 on the LSC performance list as he broke the 4min barrier in the men's 1500m. He was clocked at 3:59.69 at the Triton Invite.

Every Mustang competitor who was entered in the 5000m for both the men and women set a new season best individually. Jarred Baca (Las Vegas/West Las Vegas High School), who has led the Mustangs in this event, moved up from 6th to 4th on the Conference performance list after crossing the finish at 14:45.05. Sitting right behind him at 5th on the performance list is Aaron Perez (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS), who finished just a few steps behind J. Baca earlier today.

Finally, from the throwing team, Victoria Baca shined for the 2nd straight week as she threw a new school record of 10.81m in women's Shot Put.
