ALAMEDA, Cali. - The Western New Mexico University Golf Team continued their hot day one into day two at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout hosted by Cal State East Bay. The Mustangs took home the title of tournament champions by finishing in first place at (-28), 282-272-282-836.
Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keyes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) followed up his 66 yesterday with a 68 to vault him into second place at (-10), 72-66-68-206. Arkanath had 15 birdies, two eagles and one exceptional hole-in-one. Fellow Mustangs
Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary HS) also recorded a top three finish by coming in 3rd at (-8), 68-69-71-208. Niles recorded 17 birdies.
T-14th is Freshman
Max Kaesebier (Bad Langensalza, Germany/Pierre-de-Coubertin Gymnasium) at (-3), 71-70-72-213. Kaesebier made 11 birdies and two eagles.
Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) finished T-17th at (-2) 71-67-76-214. For the tournament Geary made 13 birdies and an eagle. T-52nd was
Tomas Ribeiro (Porto Seguro, BR/Evolução Centro HS) finished at (+8), 74-79-71-224 wit six birdies and two eagles.

Behind the Mustangs CSU-East Bay at (-12) in second place and Chico State (-9) in third place.
Shion Suzuki of Hawaii Pacific took home the tournament title at (-11).

The Mustangs will return to action on March 25 for the Midwestern State Invite.
