ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The Western New Mexico University Men's golf team finished the West/South Central Regional at Foxtail GC on Saturday evening. The Mustangs would T-7th at (+10), 289-300-285-874.
This was the final tournament for Mustang Adam Samnegard (Norrkoping, SWE/Hagagymnasiet HS/Garden City CC)..
Leading the way is Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS), T-13th at E, shooting a 71. Geary recorded 13 birdies in the tournament.Â
Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keyes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) and Adam Samnegard (Norrkoping, SWE/Hagagymnasiet HS/Garden City CC) finished T-24th at (+3). Arkanath's scorecard would read 73, including 13 birdies for the regional. Samnegard would shoot a 70 and manage nine birdies in his final tournament.
T-61st is Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary) at (+3), with a 75. Niles would have eight birdies in his tournament.Â
Anthony Lara (Anthony, NM/Gadsden HS) rounds out the lineup T-95th, with a final round of 81. Lara made 10 birdies in the regional.
Sonoma State would defeat Western Washington in a playoff to win the regional at (+3). Chico State took third place at (+5).
Griffin Pace of Sonoma State took first place shooting (-12). Jordan Lee of Western Washington would finish second with a (-9). Rounding out the top three is Aidan Goodfellow of Sonoma State at (-5)
