LA QUINTA, Calif. - The Western New Mexico University Men's Golf team finished the DII Prestige/Battle in the Desert at PGA West Mountain Course in La Quinta, Calif. After round three the Mustangs would finish 8th at (+20), 292-295-297-884.
Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keyes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) finished tied for 7th at (+1), shooting a 217. Arkanath would record two birdies in round three, this gave him 11 for the tournament.
T-16th is Adam Niles at (+2), carding a 72. Niles would finish with four birdies, giving him 10 for the tournament and an eagle as well.
Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) is T-35th at (+7), with a scorecard of 75. Geary would record one birdie on the day, giving him six birdies in the tournament.
T-45th is Anthony Lara (Anthony, NM/Gadsden HS) at (+10), scoring a 74. Lara's round would include two birdies, giving him 12 birdies in the tournament.
Adam Samnegard (Norrkoping, SWE/Hagagymnasiet HS/Garden City CC) rounds out the tournament in 78th at (+10) with a round of 79. Samnegard would record two birdies giving him five for the tournament.
Winning the tournament was Cal State East Bay at (+4). CSU San Bernardino would come in second at (+5) and in third place is Cal State Monterey Bay at (+7).
John Kim of CSU San Bernadino would finish first at (-6). Tied for 2nd is Easton Hether of Cal State East Bay and Nathan Jelton of Stanislaus State at (-5).
The Mustangs will be back in action on March 13th for the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout.
