WOMEN'S RESULTS
La Jolla, CA - The Western New Mexico University Men's and Women's Track team continued their Track & Field season at the UC San Diego Triton Invite, Saturday, April 10th.
For the women,
Maggie Orr (Gilbert, AZ/Gilbert HS) competed in the Women's 3000 meter steeplechase where she placed high for WNMU. Orr placed third with a time of 11:50.47.
Mustang
Sophia Rodriguez (Tucson, AZ/Marana HS) ran in the Women's 800 meter run where she placed 33rd, finishing with a time of 2:32.02.
As for the men, each of the five members competed in the 5000 meter run. Three of the five Mustang men took over the first three rankings of the race, showcasing very strong for WNMU.
Aaron Perez (El Paso. TX/Eastwood High School) lead the pack in first place with a time of 15:10.07.
Cody Hepker (Albuquerque, NM/Sandia HS) earned second place with a time of 15:20.83, followed by
Joshua Lara (Albuquerque, NM/Atrisco Heritage Academy HS), placing third, and finished with a time of 15:23.16.
Ahren Thorson () finished in seventh place and ended with a time of 15:47.28.
Dylan Walker (El Paso. TX/Burges High School) ended in thirteenth place earning a time of 16:04.16.
The Mustang Track team will continue their journey at Mesa Community College, April 22-23rd at 9:30 AM MT.
