Trophy Club, TX – The Western New Mexico University Men's Golf team got through one full round and 14 holes in round two before darkness approached at the Lion Invitational, at Trophy Club Country Club. The Mustangs currently sit T-4th and are (+13).

Two Mustangs are in the top-10. Adam Samnegard (Norrkoping, SWE/Hagagymnasiet HS/Garden City CC) is currently T-2nd and (-3), shooting a 69 in round one. Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary) is T-9th at (+1). Niles carded a 70 in round one. 

Carding a 78 in round one, Aaron Perales (Deming, NM/Deming HS) is currently T-28th at (+6). Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) finished his first round with a 74, but is now (+9) and T-46th. Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keyes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS)concluded round one with an 81. He is now (+16) and T-74th.

The Mustangs are (-16) on par 5's, averaging 4.52. They also have27 birdies, good enough to be 3rd overall in the field. Samnegard is (-5) for par fives, which is T-3rd in the field.

Midwestern State's Jake Doggett is in first at (-8). WNMU's Adam Samnegard (Norrkoping, SWE/Hagagymnasiet HS/Garden City CC) and Francois Jacobs are T-2nd at (-3).

Leading the Lion Invitational #6 Arkansas Tech who is (-3). Southwestern Oklahoma State is (+10) and in second. In third, #36 Cameron is (+11).

The Mustangs will continue the Lion Inviational hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce at 7:00am MT tomorrow.
