Goodyear, AZ – The Western New Mexico University Women's Golf team finished in 11th at the RJGA Shootout at Golf Club of Estrella Course. After day one, the Mustangs were in 13th place but were able to rise a few rankings by the end of round two.
Leading the 20-team pack Cal State San Marcos finished first with (+22). Arizona native Embry-Riddle finished second at (+28), and Colorado Christian is in third, 30 strokes over.
Going 320 on day, WNMU finished with 310 on their second and final round. Amanda Portillo (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) finished T-36th, carding 83-74-157. Tieing with Portillo for T-36, Ana Valeria Enriquez (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) shot 77-80-157. Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) finished in the top 50, ending the shootout T-44th going 82-77-159.
Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) was six strokes behind, placing her T-51st (79-81-160). Just below Harper was Chelsea Medina (Silver City, NM/Silver HS), as she went 82-79-161. Individual, Mia Trousdale (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) finished 80-82-162.

The Mustangs will head to Amarillo, TX, playing at Tascosa Country Club, playing in the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational on October 4th and 5th.
