Men's Tennis Captures Five-Time National Champion in Mexico

Silver City, NM - Head Men's Tennis Coach Alex Hunt has captured another outstanding recruit to a highly talented recruiting class. The native of Tlalnepantla de Baz, Mexico, Javier Romero, will be welcomed to Silver City, as a freshman in the Fall of 2021.

"Javier adds even more depth to this impressive WNMU Men's Tennis 2021 recruiting class. He combines smooth strokes with sneaky power," said Hunt. "He keeps a solid rhythm throughout his strokes and the transition between his strokes."  

Romero is a four-time National G2 Singles Champion at: San Luis Potosi, Ixtapa, Guerrero, Tlaxcala, Tlaxcala, and Pachuca, Hidaglo. Romero has also acquired a National G1 Doubles Championship title playing in Toluca, Estado de Mexico tournament and was a finalist in the Tournament BE One UTR 10-12, in Berimbau, Estado de Mexico.

"He is going to be a great addition to this impressive men's program. This new era of Mustang tennis has begun," said Hunt.
