Silver City, NM – The Mustangs came short today against the Lubbock Christian Chaparrals in last match of homestand.
The afternoon saw the Mustangs fighting the Chaparrals but eventually came short 0-7.
The match started in duos, with the first duo of
Djamel-Dine Bey (Paris, France/National Centre for Distance Education (Online)) and
Christopher Lund-Kuhl (Vaerloese, Denmark/Kruses Gymnasium) exiting the court, conceding the match 3-6. The second duo out of the court was
Benjamin Vriends (Mierlo, Netherlands/Sint Joriscollege) and
David Guta (Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic C.A. Rosetti (Romania)) 4-6. The last duo consisted of
Jack Semper (Hackney, London, UK/Stoke Newington School) and
Yannik Rogulski (Madunice, Slovakia/Archbishop's High School of Bishop P. Jantausch) who fought to a tiebreaker but eventually fell 6-6(2-7).
The singles match concluded with Guta exiting the court first 2-6, 2-6. Lund-Kuhl was second to exit the court 4-6, 2-6. Vriends left the court third dropping the match, 1-6, 4-6. Rogulski was fourth to exit the court, conceding the match 1-6, 2-6. Bey left the court fifth, dropping the match 2-6, 1-6. Semper was the last Mustang to exit the court 4-6, 1-6.
This concludes the last homestand from the Mustangs, with a final score of 0-7.
The Western New Mexico Mustangs will continue the season and will head to Wichita Falls, TX to battle the Midwestern State Mustangs on the 24
th of April.
