Silver City, NM – Lady Mustangs finish in 8^th at the Jack Brown Memorial Tournament. Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) finished T-17th shooting an 81 on the day.

Powell posted rounds of 86-79-81 (246) helping her move up six spots from yesterday. Powell had a birdie and 9 pars on the day.

The first round really hurt the Mustangs as they were behind 30 strokes. Their play in the second and third rounds would be good enough for 6^th place but the hole was dug too deep. As a team, WNMU had a total score of 1026.

Every Mustang moved up with solid play. Amanda Portillo (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) moved up 10 spots, good enough to crack the top-25, nailing a birdie and eight pars, giving her an 80 on the day. Portillo posted 88-84-80, for a total of 252. Lexi Lucero (Ruidoso, NM/Ruidoso HS) shot an 86, sinking eight pars and ended the day T-36^th. Chelsea Medina (Silver City, NM/Silver HS) had her best round of the tournament today, shooting an 85 with seven pars, placing her 38^th for the tournament.
