Waikoloa, HI –  Playing on the beaches of Hawaii at the beautiful Waikoloa Beach Golf Course, the Western New Mexico University Men's Golf Team is tied in first after the first round of the Dennis Rose Invitational. 

The Mustangs have four in the top-25, including Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) who sits in second. Geary is (-3), carding a 67. Adam Niles (Kamloops, BC/Valley View Secondary) is T7 shooting a 70 and is even on the day.

Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keyes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS) had a great day, finishing his round with a 71 and (+1). Arkanath will start round two tied in 14th. Aaron Perales (Deming, NM/Deming HS) is one stroke behind, ending round one with a 72 and T18.

Playing as an individual, Roman Romero (Albuquerque, NM/Manzano HS) shot a 74 and is T34. Adam Samnegard is T52, finishing with a 78.

WNMU is second in many categories. On par threes, WNMU is (-2), averaging 2.92; for total pars they have 58, and total birdies they have 16. Geary is leading the back on par fours as he is (-3). Niles is in third for par threes,  averaging 2.80 and is (-1) on them.

CSU San Bernardino's Brian Nielsen leads the field shooting a 66 and is (-4). WNMU's Joey Geary (Phoenix, AZ/Sunnyslope HS) is (-3) and in second. In third is CSU Dominguez Hills's Seung Ho Park in third, carding a 68 and is (-2). 

CSU San Bernardino and WNMU are tied in first, shooting (E) on the day. In third is #38 Colorado Chrisitan, who finished the day (+2) with a 72.
