Hernandez explains what it means to be a Mustang, "A Mustang is having to get out of your comfort zone, appreciate and fight for your goals. WNMU opened the doors for me, and I felt at home since my first day as an undergrad. WNMU has transformed me into a better person for myself and for my peers. I have learned major strengths like; accountability, responsibility, commitment, passion and many more assets that contributed to where I am now. The community and the institution at large have impacted my life very positively. Being international means working harder but also accepting every opportunity this university offers. As a graduate student-athlete, I am taking all my experience and helping other students reach and enjoy their time here. I am proud of being a Mustang and will always stay a Mustang!"
