Richardson, Tex. -- Sophomore David Apodaca (Rio Rancho/Cleveland High School) alongside freshman Daniel Beam (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho HS) were named to the All-Conference list Saturday morning with 5th and 11th place finished respectively in the men's 8K at the 2019 Lone Star Conference Championships at Scott Park Golf Links in Silver City, N.M.

Apodaca posted a time of 25:30.80 to finish fifth overall, three places above his finish at the 2018 conference championships. His efforts earned his second all-conference honor in his career. Freshman

Daniel Beam (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho HS) finished 11th overall with a time of 26:05.10 to join Apodaca on the all-conference team, his first in a Mustang uniform.

Senior Brenda Hernandez (Toluca, Mexico/Oatay) posted a strong finish to earn her all-conference honors at the 2019 Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships Saturday morning at the Scott Park Golf Links in Silver City, N.M. Hernandez registered a time of 23:30.82 in the Women's 6K to finish 11th overall, and first for the Mustang women.

Junior Michael Anzures (Seboyeta, NM/Grants) finished 22nd overall for the Mustang men, in a time of 26:43.60. Outside of competition, Anzures has maintained a 3.95 GPA, majoring in Kinesiology earning him All-Academic Honors for the second year in a row. 

Both teams will take the next week off, before traveling to Canyon, Texas for the NCAA Division II South Central Regional.
