What it means to be a Mustang?
A Mustang is having to get out of your comfort zone, appreciate and fight for your goals. WNMU opened the doors for me, and I felt at home since my fist day as an undergrad. WNMU has transformed me into a better person for myself and for my peers. I have learned major strengths like; accountability, responsibility, commitment, passion and many more assets that contributed to where I am now. The community and the institution at large have impacted my life very positively. Being international means working harder but also accepting every opportunity this university offers. As a graduate student-athlete, I am taking all my experience and helping other students reach and enjoy their time here. I am proud of being a Mustang and will always stay a Mustang! -Brenda Hernandez
"Brenda is a four year captain, who has been a tremendous component of our Lady Mustang Cross Country Program. Brenda brings determination, dedication, drive, motivation and great leadership. She's the student athlete that any coach would want on their team. When Brenda got involved with student government a couple of years ago I mentioned, "XC has never had a student body president". The following year Brenda campaigned and was voted WNMU's student body president. She is definitely a goal setter" said Head Coach Macario Campos
