COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western New Mexico University freshman men's golfer Michael O'Connor (Hayes, England/Cardinal Wiseman School) was named the RMAC Men's Golfer of the Week following his strong performance at the RMAC #3.


O'Connor finished tied for the individual lead with Kyle Grassel of Colorado Mines at the RMAC Event #3, held Oct. 9-10 at Raccoon Creek Golf Course (Par 72, 7,045 yards) in Littleton, Colo.


O'Connor carded rounds of 67, 71 and 72 to finish with a three-round total of 210.


His 67 in the opening round was not only the low-score of the round, but was the overall low score for the Event.


The Mustangs finished fourth overall out of ten teams Tuesday with an 868 (286-286-296).


WNMU will return to action on Monday, October 24 when they will compete in the NMSU Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M.
