SILVER CITY, NM – Western New Mexico University softball continued to excel in the classroom as 15 Mustangs were recognized as 2026 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced.
The Mustangs also posted a team GPA of 3.66 during the 2025-26 academic year, tying for 24th in the nation among collegiate softball programs.
The Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors recognize student-athletes who achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher during the academic year. Across all collegiate divisions, 8,850 softball student-athletes earned the distinction for 2025-26, including 1,869 NCAA Division II student-athletes.
WNMU's 15 honorees include:

- Marleigh Manns (Los Lunas, NM/Los Lunas High School)
- Hannah Martinez (Carlsbad, NM/Carlsbad High School)
- Lanessa Morales (Vail, AZ/Cienega High School)
- Jenna Peters (Lake Elsinore, CA/Temescal Canyon High School)
- Maria Ruelaz (Silver City, NM/Silver High School)
- Isalei Salazar (El Paso, TX/Montwood High School)
- Sophia Solano (Tucson, AZ/Sahuaro High School)
- Isabelle Soto (Tucson, AZ/Salpointe Catholic High School)

The recognition adds to a strong academic showing for the Mustangs, who demonstrated consistency both on the field and in the classroom throughout the 2025-26 season.
With 15 student-athletes earning individual academic honors and a 3.66 team GPA ranking among the nation's top programs, WNMU softball continues to represent the university's commitment to excellence beyond the diamond.
