Litchfield Park, AZ — The Western New Mexico Women's Golf team finished up the first day of the Women's Rattler Invitational, March 9th, in 1st out 13 teams. They finished the day with a first round total of 304 for a (+16) total.
Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) led the way for the Mustangs, currently in a tie for 1st individually with a first round of 73 (+1) that included 3 birdies on the round.
Corynn Speer (Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo, HS) followed behind with a first round 74 (+2) with 3 birdies on the day and is in a tie for 4th individually.
Nicole Jasso (Deming, NM/Deming HS) was next for the Mustangs with an opening round 77 (+5) which has her at tied 11th individually.
Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) opened up with a round of 80 (+8) and is currently in a tie for 24th. Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs,
Erin Turner (Deming, NM/Deming HS) opened up with an 82 (+10), placing her in tied 38th individually. As an individual,
Kelly Peden (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) finished the first day with a round of 84 (+12) and is in tied 43rd.
The Lady Mustangs will return for the final round at 08:00am, tomorrow March 10th, at The Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, AZ for a chance to win the SMSU Spring Invite.
