Pueblo, CO — The Western New Mexico Women's Golf team finished up the first day of the Southern Colorado Open, March 22nd, in 8th out of 15 teams. They finished the day with a first round total of 314 for a (+26) total.
Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) led the way for the Mustangs, currently in a tie for 18th individually with a first round of 77 (+5).
Nicole Jasso (Deming, NM/Deming HS) followed behind with a first round 78 (+6) with 3 birdies on the day and is in a tie for 23rd individually.
Corynn Speer (Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo, HS) was next for the Mustangs with an opening round 79 (+7) which has her at tied 30th individually.
Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) opened up with a round of 80 (+8) and is currently in a tie for 38th. Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs,
Erin Turner (Deming, NM/Deming HS) opened up with an 83 (+11), placing her in tied 55th individually. As an individual,
Kelly Peden (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) finished the first day with a round of 88 (+16) and is in 75th.
The Lady Mustangs will return for the final round at 08:00am, tomorrow March 23rd, at The Walking Stick Golf Club in Pueblo, Colorado.
