Ruidoso, N.M. — The Western New Mexico Women's Golf team concluded the Poss High Country Shootout in Ruidoso, NM with a final round 310 (+26) finishing in a tie for third place with a total of 612 (+44).
Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) led the way for the Mustangs, finishing with a final round 78 (+7) to finish in 5th place with a 69-78 (+5) total.
Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) followed with a steady round of 78 to add to her 73 yesterday and finish in 11th place with a +9 total.
Corynn Speer (Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo, HS) had the best round of the day for the Lady Mustangs with a 76 (+5) to move up seven spots from yesterday and finish in a tie for 15th with a 80-76 (+14) total.
Nicole Jasso (Deming, NM/Deming HS) also improved upon yesterday's round with a 78 (+7) in the second round to finish in T22 with a 80-78 (+16) total.
Erin Turner (Deming, NM/Deming HS) showed the largest improvement of six shots in the second round with an 80 (+9) to finish in 35th with an 86-80 (+24) total.
Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs as an individual was
Kelly Peden (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS), who shot a score of 81 (+10) and finished the tournament in T28.
The Lady Mustangs will look to continue their play into next week as they travel to Amarillo, TX for the WT Women's Invitational, September 29-30th.
