RICHARDSON, TEXAS - The Lone Star Conference announced that 2,461 student-athletes earned Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition for the Spring 2025 semester, including 840 individuals who posted a perfect 4.00 grade-point average.
Western New Mexico University had 126 student-athletes earn a spot on the list, with 45 achieving a perfect 4.00 GPA. The total matches the department's highest to date and reflects the consistent academic focus across Mustang Athletics. Student-athletes from nearly every program contributed to the honor, showing a strong commitment to balancing competition with classroom success.
"We always talk about building champions in competition, in the community, and in the classroom—and this is proof our student-athletes are living that standard," said Interim Athletic Director Matt Enriquez. "Their hard work and commitment to academic success represent what it truly means to be a Mustang."
The continued academic success of WNMU student-athletes highlights the program's ongoing commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
To qualify for the honor roll, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.30 GPA for the semester and be listed on an active sport roster. Honorees include participants from all 19 LSC championship sports, three NCAA non-conference sports, and student staff assisting in athletic training, performance, and sports information
