ROCKWALL, Texas – The Western New Mexico University women's golf team wrapped up its 2024–25 season on Tuesday at the Lone Star Conference Championship, finishing 11th overall with a three-round team total of 956 (+92) at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club. The Mustangs showed steady improvement over the three-day event and posted their lowest round of the tournament with a 312 (+24) in the final 18 holes.

Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) led the way with a stellar final-round 73 (+1), the best score of the week for WNMU. She closed strong with a back-nine 35 and finished tied for 27th overall at +15 with rounds of 79, 79, and 73. Her consistent play helped anchor the Mustangs throughout the tournament.

Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) delivered her best round of the championship on Tuesday with a 78 (+6), including a solid 37 on the back nine. She tied for 47th at +29 with rounds of 86, 81, and 78. Her steady improvement each day showed her ability to finish strong.

Erin Turner (Deming, NM/Deming HS) bounced back in the final round with a 79 (+7), recording matching 37s on the front and back. She tied for 51st at +37, turning in rounds of 85, 89, and 79 to close her season with confidence.

Corynn Speer (Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo, HS), who led the team through the opening two rounds, shot an 82 (+10) in the final round to finish 37th overall at +21 with rounds of 77, 78, and 82. Her early consistency gave the Mustangs a strong start to the championship.

Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) closed with an 83 (+11) and finished tied for 41st at +24 with rounds of 81, 76, and 83. Her second-round 76 was the team's low round on Monday and one of the highlights of the week.

The Mustangs improved each day of the championship, lowering their team score from 326 to 318 to 312. The event marked the final tournament of the year and officially concludes the 2024–25 season for Western New Mexico.
