Mustangs Drop Two to the Eagles at The Yard

Silver City, New Mexico – The Mustangs continue their 2025 season back home in Silver City, NM. Going against the Oklahoma Christian Eagles at The Yard, the Mustangs lost in seven innings during the first game 4-10. Their second game against the Eagles ended in seven innings with a score of 1-7.

Game One: Western New Mexico vs. Oklahoma Christian 4-10

Starting on the mound for the Mustangs, Labraida Tenorio (Rio Rancho, NM/Rio Rancho High School) who pitched a total of 2.1 innings, facing 13 batters and threw 40 pitches. Coming in to help the Mustangs, Madison Kloepper (Llano, TX/Llano High School) pitched three innings facing 16. In total, she threw 55 pitches. Ending the game, Haiven Schoolcraft (Carlsbad, NM/Carlsbad High School) threw 1.2 innings for the Mustangs. She faces seven batters and threw 20 pitches against the Eagles.

Offensively, the Mustangs had a total of 23 at bats. They earned four runs, with Abbi Markus (Sun City, AZ/Liberty High School) crossing the plate twice. She face 21 batters, 69 pitches, and earned one strikeout for the Mustangs. As the relief pitcher, Guilianna Wilson (Peoria, AZ/Mountain Ridge High School) made an appearance for 2.2 innings facing 14 batters with 34 pitches and two strikeouts.

Offensively, the Mustangs had a total of 27 at bats. They earned one run with Abbi Markus (Sun City, AZ/Liberty High School) crossing the plate for the Mustangs. Antonya Lucero (Albuquerque, NM/La Cueva High School) and Madison George (San Miguel, CA/Templeton High School) pulled their weight with two hits each for the Mustangs against the Eagles.
