SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Western New Mexico's women's golf team concluded their final round at the Rattler Invitational in 12th place, posting a three-round total of 961 (+97). Despite the challenges posed by the course, the Mustangs remained steady, with round scores of 313, 320, and 328.
Leading the Mustangs was Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS), who finished with a score of 82 (+10), including two rounds of 41 (+5). Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) followed with a total of 83 (+11), recovering from a front nine of 43 (+7) to shoot a 40 (+4) on the back nine. Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) also posted an 82 (+10), maintaining consistency with a front nine of 42 (+6) and a back nine of 40 (+4). Corynn Speer (Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo, HS) finished with an 81 (+9), highlighted by a strong 39 (+3) on the front nine, and a 42 (+6) on the back nine. Kelly Peden (El Paso, TX/Eastwood HS) wrapped up the tournament with a score of 88 (+16), battling through a front nine of 45 (+9) before shooting 43 (+7) on the back nine.
The Mustangs now turn their attention to the SMSU Spring Invitational, scheduled for March 10-11, 2025, at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
