Pueblo, CO. — The Western New Mexico Women's Golf team finished up the first round of the NCAA DII Regional Preview October 13th with 18 holes at Pueblo Country Club. They finished the day in twentieth place with a team score of 324 for a (+40) total.
Corynn Speer (Alamogordo, NM/Alamogordo, HS) led the way for the Mustangs, with a first round 78 (+7) to close the day in a tie for 36th in the 110 player field.
Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) followed close behind with a first round score of 81 (+10) to finish the day in T70th.
Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) was next for the Lady Mustangs with an opening round 82, to finish the day at +11 in T78.
Nicole Jasso (Deming, NM/Deming HS) ended the day with a round of 83 which leaves her at +12 for the tournament in a tie for 86th. Rounding out the lineup for the Mustangs,
Erin Turner (Deming, NM/Deming HS) finished the day with a score of 89 (+18), placing her in T103.
Results
The Lady Mustangs are within eleven shots of 12th place and will look to make a final round charge as the NCAA West Regional Preview continues tomorrow, October 14th, in Pueblo, Colorado.
