TUCSON, Ari. - The Western New Mexico University Women's Golf took place in the West Texas A&M Desert Invite on Monday morning. After round one the Mustangs sit in third place at (+20). 308.
Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) leads the way thanks to an impressive eagle on the day. Harper sit T-3rd at (+1), 73 with two birdies. T-17th is Brooklyn Maes at (+4), 76. Maes had three birdies.
Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) is T-30th at (+7), 79. Klemke recorded four birdies. Next Mustang up is
Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS), T-42nd at (+8), 80. Powell has two birdies.
Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) rounds out the lineup at T-94th at (+17), 89.
Oklahoma Christian leads the way at (+13). St. Mary's is second at (+15). West Texas A&M and Cal State East Bay are tied for third with the Mustangs at (+20).
Yulianna Yapur of Texas A&M International leads at (-3). Kylie Severin of CSU-Pubelo is second at E. Madison Murr of Cal State San Marcos and Maria Torres of Oklahoma Christian are tied for third with Harper at (+1).
The Mustangs will play round two tomorrow at 9:00 AM MT.
