LITCHFIELD PARK, Ari. - The Western New Mexico Women's Golf Team took park in the SMSU Spring Invite on Monday afternoon at the Wigwam Red Course. The Mustangs sit in first place after round one (+17), 298.

Two Mustangs hold the top two spots after round one. Brooklynn Maes (Las Cruces, NM/Centennial HS) holds solo possession of first place at E, 72 with two birdies. In second place is Taysea Powell (Artesia, NM/Artesia HS) at (+1), 73 and two birdies as well.

T-7th is Shandiin Harper (Farmington, NM/Piedra Vista HS) at (+4), 76. Harper had four birdies. Alexandria Klemke (Goodyear, AZ/Estrella Foothills HS) sits T-13th (+5), 77. She recorded two birdies. Falyn Lackey (Hobbs, NM/Hobbs HS) rounds out the top lineup, T-22nd at (+7), 79. Lackey has two birdies as well.

Trailing the Mustangs is Missouri Western St at (+17) an Colorado Mesa at (+21).
