AMARILLO, TEXAS - Western New Mexico University's golf team saw mixed performances at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite hosted by West Texas A&M Golf at the Amarillo Country Club in Amarillo, Texas. The Mustangs could never get consecutive low rounds, finishing 15th with a 227 (+17).
Leading the Mustangs was
Tomas Ribeiro (Porto Seguro, BR/Evolução Centro HS), who finished the event at +4 (74), tied for 39th overall. Ribeiro's performance included steady rounds, closing with scores of even par, +2, and +2 over the three rounds.
Arnav Arkanath (Milton Keynes, GB/Sir Henry Floyd HS),
Jayden Schmitz (Oro Valley, AZ/Ironwood Ridge HS),
Max Kaesebier (Bad Langensalza, Germany/Pierre-de-Coubertin Gymnasium)also and
Jacob Alcorta (Silver City/Silver HS) Jr. ended their tournaments at +6 (76), placing them in a tie for 53rd. Arkanath showed resilience with his consistent +4, +1, and +1 scores, while Schmitz, playing as an individual, had a standout second round of -1 before finishing with a +4 on the final day. Kaesebieralso play was marked by solid even-par rounds on both the first and second days, but he stumbled slightly with a +6 in the final round. Alcorta Jr. finished +2, E, +4
Rounding out the team, finished at +6, tying for 62nd place, while
Noa Tissot (La Tour-De-Peilz, Switzerland/Lavau Institute HS) closed at +9 (79) with scores of +6, -1, +4, landing him in a tie for 75th.
