SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Mustangs performed in San Diego, Calif. yesterday at Triton Stadium. Both teams entered runners into new events and placing themselves in the top 25 in the conference.
On the men's side, Aaron Perez led the mustangs through the 1500m race as he finished with a 4:02.59, placing himself in the top 25 in the field and 17
th in the conference standings. Following him in the event was Cody Kepfer who finished with a time of 4:10.99.
In the 800m run, Noah Bugeyung crossed the line at 2:04.19. This was a season best for him as he finished almost four seconds faster than the GCU meet a few weeks ago.
For the women,
Veronika Garcia (Tucson, AZ/Cienega High School) ran exceptionally well yesterday as she took 21
st in her field in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:13.88. This was a season best for her and puts Veronika in the top 25 in the conference standings this week.
Her performance was followed by javelin throwers,
Selma Carrasco (El Paso, TX/Mountain View HS) and Britney Hickman, who both finished in the top 20 among their field at the meet. Selma threw a season best of 30.23m, and Britney threw a season best of 29.54m. Both of these performances marks them in the top 10 overall in the conference standings this week.
